Luis Gómez

Luis GomezLuis Gómez (Madrid 1977) is a convinced sceptic and gentle warrior, and he professes an almost obscene admiration for education. Passionate about semiotics and intuition, Luis got his writing career off to an early start by penning video-game critique for one of the first computer and video game publications in Spain at the tender age of 11, where he was ‘obliged’ not only to try out the latest games on the market, but also to be paid for it. While studying Civil Engineering he wrote notes on math, physics and chemistry that he’d later use for editing his own teaching method and use in his private classes as he, indignant at the mediocrity so prevalent in education, sought to make learning fun and clearly comprehensible for youngsters. He also wrote for the college fanzine, churning out subversive diatribes against what he still considers  “weapons of mass destruction disguised as teachers”. A taste for translation came about due to his collaboration on drum forums and music tutorials (which he love & collects). His translation of a small but great video by Charles Eisenstein set off a lovely chain of events still unfurling today. Apart from GT, Luis trains and assesses dog behaviour at CityZendogs. He also translates for Dogalia, a publisher specialising in modern science-based canine education and training, and is part of Yes&Click!, a beautiful animal training and personal development project, focused in the dog-human bond and the teaching of coordinated behaviors.
